- Born 1951 (Zlin, Czechoslovakia)
- Mentored by MIROSLAV HAK (Group ’42); the friendship continued until his death in 1978
- First solo exhibit at the Czechoslovak Writers Gallery in downtown Prague
- Master of Arts degree from FAMU (Academy of Film and Television Arts), Prague
- Met JOSEF SUDEK and filmed his last exhibit at Prague’s Museum of Applied Arts
- Wrote and directed “GENERATION ’70”, a theatrical short about the upcoming generation of Czech photographers. The film was immediately banned by the communist authorities
- 1981 escaped from behind the Iron Curtain with his wife and two young sons
- Lived in Austria and Switzerland.
- 1982 landed in Canada
- 1983 started shooting documentaries again, mainly for CBC, TV Ontario and Vision TV
- 1984 employed by Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario
- NICHES – first Canadian solo exhibit, Toronto (Ontario Arts Council grant)
